Bob’s Beginnings

Bob Doddato was raised in a humble home in Sharpsville, PA, Mercer County.  His father had an entrepreneurial spirit and began a collision repair business in the Hermitage/ Sharon area. His mother worked very hard to complete nursing school while Bob was young and she has been a nurse for over 30 years. Both of these examples of hard work have helped make Bob who he is today.

He attended Sharpsville High School and went on to Geneva College for Accounting.  He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Geneva in his accounting program.  After graduation, he began his accounting career at one of the big four accounting firms, KPMG.  While working 50+ hours a week, Bob studied very hard and passed his CPA licensing exams.  He worked mainly in the audit and advisory department at KPMG and worked with such clients as BNY Mellon, MetWest, Fannie Mae/ Freddie Mac and.  In 2011, he decided to make a change and went to work at EDMC and learn more about higher education, something that Western Pennsylvania is no stranger to.  He traveled around the country working with their schools Argosy University and The Art Institutes.  After his time with EDMC, he went to work for Highmark in their audit department.  He had been doing audit work for over ten years and decided to broaden his horizons within the company.  Knowing that Western PA is entrenched in healthcare, he began working for a team that focused on Stars and Medicare, specifically the Osteoporosis side of Medicare within government compliance.  He left Highmark in 2022 and currently does Financial Consulting.

In the midst of his professional career, Bob managed to start a successful rental business with a long-time friend from Geneva College. They grew the business into a multi-million dollar portfolio of land and buildings and they now operate in both Pennsylvania and Florida.

His Work for North Fayette

In 2011, an opening became available in the North Fayette Supervisors board and he knew this was would be a great opportunity to help improve his community.  He won his first election that year and became the treasurer of the board of Supervisors and was re-elected in 2017.  He has worked very hard with the bipartisan board and they have accomplished some wonderful things for the community such as acquiring a new library facility, construction of the community center and expanding police officers to be present in every school within West Allegheny. This was all accomplished without raising taxes. Bob worked hard to find savings to investment in our community through cost saving efforts related to:

  • Pension reform

  • Bond Refinancing

  • Creation of the Joint Bid Paving Program with Moon, Crescent and Collier communities

  • Partnering with WACMA and Allegheny County to consolidate duplicative positions at North Fayette

These savings have amounted to over $5 million for the tax payers of North Fayette.

His Family

He and his wife Kay met while attending North Way Church in Wexford.  Kay is from the Shaler Area and they have been married for over 15 years.  They decided to move to the west hills of Pittsburgh for its growth and proximity to the city.  They currently have three children – Jovie, August and Clare.  Jovie and August attend McKee Elementary and Clare attends Resurrection Lutheran Preschool.

Bob volunteers his time in the kid’s ministry at Hill City Church, which he and his family have called home since 2018.  He and Kay became licensed foster parents in 2017 and helped children in need during crisis.  They also support Choices Pregnancy services in Coraopolis, a pro-life organization that helps thousands of women a year.
